MRS Alligator 2S Pro

MRS Alligator 2S Pro is the flagship of the MRS fleet. The packraft is especially suited for paddlers with high demands on their equipment – guides, professional paddlers, expedition racers and adventurers.

The Alligator 2S Pro is the most durable raft that MRS offers to date, with extra coating all around the outer hull. It features the new and advanced seat and backrest system which also happens to be really comfortable.

MRS Alligator 2S is delivered together with the ISS system, which makes it possible for paddlers to store their loose equipment inside the tubes of the rafts, completely protected from the outer elements (read more about ISS further down). The packraft also comes standard with the ergonomically designed thigh straps with 4 attachment points each, which helps you reach another level of control in the deep white water.

Design

MRS Alligator 2S Pro is built upon the MRS 27-cm tubes, which in our opinion offers a perfect mix between agility, comfort and stability. The narrow, pointy boat is, together with the slighty upturned bow, a winner in white water. A relatively long waterline gives the packraft an upper edge when it comes to speed and acceleration (which also makes the Alligator 2S Pro a nice expedition/touring packraft).

Spraydeck

The non-removable white water spraydeck is made for wet environments. The frame (coaming) made out of aluminium, helps the skirt stay in place for a nearby 100 % waterproof solution. Long sessions in hot or dry environments is still possible, due to the possibility to remove the spray skirt to create an open environment with good ventiliation while still offering some protection from water from paddle strokes or light rain.

Recommended user lenght

MRS Alligator 2S Pro is best suited for people up to 190 cm. The fit is narrow which transfer the hip movements directly into the tubes of the raft (enabling great control).

ISS (Internal Storage System)

The packraft is equipped with preinstalled ISS (internal storage system) and two large drybags. ISS is essentially a TiZip zipper on the rear of the boat. You can use the zipper to store things inside the tubes of the packraft. This allows A LOT of geat to be brought on your adventures, without having to sacrifice space on the floor or bow of the boat.
MRS uses TiZips best zipper, Masterseal 10. It is pressure proof up to 500 mbar, which means it is totally safe, completely waterproof and airtight.

ISS main advantages are:

• You can store a lot of gear inside the packraft
• The things you store within ISS will always remain dry.
• Lower point of gravity makes for a more comfortable and stable ride.
• More space where you need it, e.g. where you sit.

The main disadvantage of the system is that you cannot access the gear stored inside of the ISS without letting the air out of the packraft. That is why we recommend the ISS for storing camp-related things, such as tents, sleeping bags, spare clothes, water and food for the days to come.

Fin

The packraft is delivered with an installed (and removable) fin for better tracking and higher max speed.

MRS Alligator 2S Pro is available in two different sizes – regular and oversize. Regular is best suited for smaller persons and below 190 cm in length. Oversize is better for learger and taller persons.

Material

The seams are sewn and welded.

Every MRS packraft is made out of urethan coated nylon which is UV-resistant, durable, and flexible in low temperatures.

MRS Alligator 2S Pro has a bottom which is also strengthen by aramid fibre which makes the material highly tear resistant.

• Tubes: 210-denier nylon fabric (UPN35) with multiple urethane coating (3mil 67T*55T 90 A Ester TPU)  and surface finish with black pigments (higher degree of hardness)

• Floor: 840-denier, high tear resistant Aramid-fibre with multiple urethane coating (4mil 67T*55T 90 A Ester TPU) and surface finish

• Spray Deck: 70-denier Ripstop nylon with single-sided urethane coating, velcro and zips

• Seat and Back rest: 210-denier Weave Nylon with single-sided urethane coating

MRS are fully involved in the development process of the materials used, and has its own product development. The TPU material used exclusively by MRS is developed in close collaboration with a large American company with the aim of offering customers the highest possible quality.

The packraft is delivered together with repair patches (no glue), fin and mount for fin, inflation bag, seat, backrest, spraydeck, skirt, frame (coaming), thigh straps and strap.
